Robert Cotto, Jr., Ed.M.
Senior Policy Fellow
Robert Cotto, Jr. is a Senior Policy Fellow at Connecticut Voices, where his focus is on K-12 education policy. He was a social studies teacher for seven years at the Metropolitan Learning Center for Global and International Studies in Bloomfield. He has worked in both public and private schools in New York City; San Francisco; and Cambridge, Massachusetts. Born and raised in Connecticut, Mr. Cotto earned his B.A. in sociology at Dartmouth College and his Ed.M. at Harvard University Graduate School of Education. His research interests in the education area include assessment and equity.
Robert was elected as a member of the Hartford Board of Education in 2009. His term runs from January 2010 until December 2013. He is also on the Board of Directors for Boys Speak Out, Inc, an organization dedicated to working with adolescents on career and social development. He lives with his wife Viana in the Frog Hollow neighborhood of Hartford.
