Nicole Updegrove

Nicole Updegrove is an Associate Policy Fellow at Connecticut Voices for Children. Her research and policy analysis focus primarily on child welfare and early childhood development. She also works on policy advocacy with the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving.

Before joining Voices, Nicole worked directly with therapeutic foster care youth as a case manager at Connecting Children and Families in New Haven. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from Wesleyan University. At Wesleyan, Nicole served as president of the Wesleyan Student Assembly where she fought for more equitable campus policies across many issue areas affecting students and staff. She has also written issue-focused narrative memoirs, helped teach creative nonfiction writing, performed research on infant and adolescent health, and fostered 14 dogs.
